Along with routine work with horses, cattle and sheep we offer the following services:

Herd health Investigations

If your herd or flock is presenting with illness, we use further diagnostics such as bloods or postmortems to clarify the cause. This is most helpful in mastitis, abortion or respiratory outbreaks in herds. We can use data collected on farm, such as herd milk recordings, to help farmers reduce the incidence of clinical disease.

Herd Health Planning

This is primarily aimed at preventing illness from entering your farm. We give advice on purchasing, testing, isolating and vaccinating as well as a full anthelmintic programme for dosing where needed. We encourage the use of faecal egg counts to best determine the timing and choice of dosing. Bulk milk tests are particularly useful to our vets in these cases.

Johnes Screening: This is often performed at the annual TB herd test where appropriate.

Mineral profiles: These are regularly performed prior to breeding or embryo transfer.

Ultrasound/Scanning for pregnancy diagnosis and fertility issues in cattle and horses.

Calf health and management: Your calf is the basis of your future herd, be it dairy or beef. We encourage the highest level of care from the first day to ensure your calf meets their targets throughout their lives. We cover everything from colostrum management to vaccination.

Vaccination advice and purchase: We stock a comprehensive range of vaccinations for cattle and sheep.
