Cat, Dog & Pet Vaccinations
As soon as you welcome a new puppy or kitten into your home, it is important to start their vaccination course before they explore the outside world.
The primary course consists of 2 injections being given 3-4 weeks apart. This helps protect them during their most vulnerable early months. After the initial course, vaccinations are maintained with regular boosters once annually or every 3 years depending on the vaccine.
At Moate Veterinary Hospital we vaccinate dogs against leptospirosis (4 strains) as well as distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus and parainfluenza. A canine cough vaccine (Kennel Cough) can also be administered if your dog is mixing with other dogs, staying in kennels or attending training classes/doggie day care. Cats receive a vaccine against flu and enteritis as well as a leukaemia virus vaccine (FeLV).
Our team will help you choose the right protection based on your pet’s lifestyle and risk factors.
Every vaccination appointment includes a Full Health Check, giving us the chance to spot problems early & keep your pets in top condition. This may include:
- Weight & body condition check
- Dental examintation
