Dr. Daniel Murray
MVB MRCVS Grad Cert. D.H.H.
Daniel Murray qualified in 1986 from U.C.D. After gaining experience in small and large animal practice in the UK and Ireland he returned to his hometown to establish Moate Pet Clinic in 1995.
As principal of the practice, he knows how important it is to keep abreast of all the latest developments and techniques in veterinary medicine and surgery and has completed the UCD post graduate certificate in Dairy Herd Health Management.
He is married to Siobhan and they, their three children and pet dog Peggy the Boxer live adjacent to the clinic in Moate.
Dr. Jennifer O'Donovan
MVB GPCert (SAS)
Jennifer O’Donovan originally comes from Clonakilty in Cork and graduated from the veterinary college in U.C.D in 2005.
She has travelled widely through veterinary, working mainly between Ireland and the UK gaining experience in both mixed practices and dedicated small animal hospitals.
She has recently settled in Moate having worked here previously in a locum position. Jennifer is also registered with the E.S.V.P.S after completing their two year small animal surgery course and examinations in the UK.
Jen is regularly escorted everywhere by a handsome shih tzu Harry, and a white fluff ball, Holly.
Cormac Ryan, MVB
Veterinary Surgeon
Cormac Ryan is a veterinary surgeon who graduated from University College Dublin with a degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2022. Originally from Cashel, Co. Tipperary, Cormac has called Moate home for the past three years and has become a familiar and trusted face in the local farming community.
Cormac has a strong interest in large animal practice, with a particular passion for herd health. He brings a practical, dedicated approach to his work and is committed to supporting the long-term wellbeing of farm animals across the region.
Affectionately known as “a man for the people, by the people,” Cormac is well respected not just for his veterinary skills, but for his down-to-earth nature and genuine rapport with clients.
Back home, his beloved Border Collie, Ned, is a much-loved part of the family. Ned is a simple soul, but one who holds a special place in their hearts.
Outside of work, Cormac is a keen sportsman and is often found picking up a hurl for the local Brosna Gaels team. He also has a strong interest in travel and enjoys experiencing different cultures whenever he gets the chance.
Olga Burke, MVB
Veterinary Surgeon
Originally from Gort, Co. Galway, Olga Burke joined the team at Moate Veterinary Hospital in autumn 2023. She qualified from University College Dublin (UCD) with a degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2023.
Olga has a strong interest in small animal medicine, equine medicine, and calf health. Her well-rounded knowledge and compassionate approach make her a valuable asset to both our clients and their animals.
Outside of work, Olga has a keen interest in sports—particularly camogie and ladies football. She’s also kept on her toes by her beloved dog, Jimmy, who is well known around the clinic as the life and soul of Moate Veterinary Hospital!

Olivia Kealey
Head Veterinary Nurse
Olivia Kealey holds a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Nursing, graduating in 2018. She began her career at Moate Veterinary Hospital in 2019, where she quickly became a valued member of the team thanks to her dedication, skill, and compassionate care.
In 2023, Olivia travelled to Australia to expand her clinical experience, with a particular focus on Equine Nursing. During her time abroad, she continued to build her expertise and returned in October 2024 to take on the role of Head Veterinary Nurse at Moate Veterinary Hospital.
Olivia’s passion lies in surgical and emergency nursing, where she brings precision, focus, and a calm presence to every procedure.
Outside of work, Olivia enjoys spending time with her beloved Connemara pony, Teddy, and her loyal Border Collie, Louis.
Shannon Feerick
Veterinary Nurse
Originally from Co. Roscommon, Shannon Feerick joined the Moate Veterinary Hospital team in April 2025. She graduated from AIT in 2019 with a BSc in Veterinary Nursing, went on to do an add-on degree in Applied Biosciences and has since built a strong foundation in both technical skills and compassionate care.
Shannon is especially passionate about surgical nursing, nursing consults, and all aspects of hands-on clinical work—including blood draws, catheter placement, stitch removal, and dental procedures. Her love for practical nursing shines through in everything she does.
At home, Shannon is kept busy by her two affectionate Ragdoll-mix cats, Nyx and Apollo, and her Bichon Frise, Eevee—who rules the house as the resident drama queen.
In her downtime, Shannon enjoys reading fantasy novels, playing piano, listening to music, and taking long, peaceful walks in the woods with Eevee by her side.

Kate Buckley
Practice Manager
Kate completed her nursing degree at AIT in 2009 and registered with the Veterinary Council of Ireland. The following spring, Kate joined Moate Pet Clinic taking on the role of Veterinary Nurse dedicating herself to the nursing and anaesthetic care of our in-patients and progressing to the role of Head Vet Nurse as the clinic achieved Hospital status.
More recently Kate has transitioned to the role of Practice Manager, bringing her many years of knowledge working in clinical practice to her new role. As Kate now oversees the day to day running of the hospital she can be found in her office helping keep things running as smoothly as possible for all of our wonderful clients.
Kate is married to Jay, mother to 3 energetic boys Finn, Cillian & Iarlaith & has a beautiful Golden Retriever Maya & a mischievous cat called Ricardo. If all of that does not keep Kate busy enough, she enjoys reading, documentaries & nature walks.
Dorothy Crowe
Office Administrator
Originally from Dublin, Dorothy has been part of the Moate community for the past 13 years, having visited regularly for nearly two decades before making it her permanent home. She joined the team at Moate Veterinary Hospital in October 2023 as our Office Administrator and quickly became an integral part of the day-to-day operations.
Dorothy brings warmth, organisation, and a bubbly personality to the front desk, helping to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. She especially enjoys the variety her role brings—no two days are ever the same—and has a particular fascination with observing complex surgical procedures, often marvelling at the skill and precision of the clinical team.
Outside of work, Dorothy is a proud mum to two wonderful daughters Liliana & Lacey, and a devoted pet parent to Pablo, her lively Chihuahua, and Jinx, a special needs cat with a big wobbly personality.
Edel McManus
VCSR / Office Administrator
A Rosemount native, Edel joined the team at Moate Veterinary Hospital in August 2022, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and a warm, approachable presence at the front desk. She qualified from AIT in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Nursing and has remained passionate about small animal health ever since.
Edel has a particular interest in small animal nutrition, health and wellbeing, and is always happy to share advice and support with pet owners to help keep their companions happy, fit and healthy. As part of her varied role, she’s also known for her unofficial (but much appreciated) title as the clinic’s go-to tech fixer—there’s rarely an issue she can’t solve!
Outside of work, Edel is an avid country music fan and enjoys the sport of bikejoring. At home, she shares her life with her energetic Hungarian Vizsla, Kaizer; her charming ginger cat, Beans; and Billy, her much-loved 33-year-old pony.
